HOW IT STARTED

House Of Braid founder and braider Tassara Azad was born and raised in Los Angeles. Growing up her curly hair was difficult to tame. She was left with no choice but to style it. This paved the way for her to start experimenting on numerous hair styles one being braids. Tassara’s knack for hair developed at a young age. However, she did not recognize and identify her talent in braiding until after graduating college.

In 2016, Tassara graduated from the University Of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Soon after graduating she came up with the idea House Of Braid in January of 2017. During her time growing her business, she enrolled in Cosmetology School where she then graduated one year later from Toni & Guy. During her time in Cosmetology school she enrolled in a worldwide Toni&Guy hair competition where she was nominated and awarded for representing the “Best Team Los Angeles” for her work.

Her work has been recognized by many brands, celebrities, influencers, and the general public. She has also worked with a variety of brands, celebrities, and influencers. Her goal is to transform the hair braiding industry by making it upscale, accessible, and available to everyone of all cultures.
